Advantages
Quartz is nonporous so it offers excellent durability and low maintenance. Because it is a man-made material it has a very consistent appearance.
Disadvantages
Quartz is not heat resistant and can be damaged by sudden temperature changes and UV rays. It is also heavier than some countertop materials; before installation ensure cabinets and support structures are strong enough to withstand the weight.
Maintenance
Quartz’s nonporous surface makes it low maintenance. Clean countertops with water and a mild soap or detergent. A 50-50 mixture of water and white vinegar can be used as a natural alternative.
